I have been writing and illustrating books for children since 1986. My critically acclaimed publications include activity and novelty books, early readers, picture books, nonfiction for all ages, short stories for middle-grade readers, magazine articles, and classroom supplemental materials. One of my books, Amazing Animal Skills: Leaps and Creeps, was a finalist for the 2012 Animal Behavior Society’s Outstanding Children’s Book Award. What’s the Difference Between a Butterfly and a Moth? was an International Reading Association Teachers Choice Award in 2010.
I self-published several books, two of them with my partner, Marvin Denmark. I also write blogs for him, called Wildcat Man. We work and play in the wilds of western Oregon.
